The tournament will not follow a knock-out system, meaning all players will get to play a full 7 rounds, regardless of their performance. Games will be played with a time control of 10 minutes per player, plus a 3-second increment per move.
At the award ceremony, every participant will receive a medal and a personalized photo as a keepsake of the event. The winners of each category will be honored with a trophy, recognizing their achievement.
The tournament will feature four main categories, organized according to player skill level:
Category A: Step 1, Step 1+ and beginners
Category B: Step 2, Step 2+
Category C: Step 3, Step 3+
Category D: Steps 4, 5, and 6, as well as parents and supervisors
Each category will be further divided into age-based subcategories, ensuring fair and balanced competition. A minimum of eight players is required per subcategory.

The Ches Club Karpov Deinze provides lunch options for players and visitors. Reservation in advance is required. Additionally, a variety of snacks and drinks will be available at the bar throughout the event.
On the same day, Belgium’s top chess talent, Daniel Dardha, will take on 30 challengers at once in a thrilling simultaneous exhibition. This is a rare opportunity to witness a grandmaster in action, showcasing his skills across multiple boards. Children will have the chance to meet Daniel, capture the moment with a photo, or get a signed autograph from the country's finest player.
